Twin Towers |
| Description: | 38”x48”x6” The burning rubble is made up of pieces of one of my first 3-D works, "Millennium", which was created in 2000 and destroyed in a studio accident. I was going to use the pieces in a new work to be called "2nd Millennium" when 9-11 happened. I feel that that tragic day served to re-ignite the fire in us as a nation, and that it will be viewed as a "tragic blessing" after the trauma has passed (and it will). I tried to reflect that optimism in this piece (2001). Available from the artist. | Text: | "The past is but the beginning of a beginning", by the English novelist and historian Herbert George (H.G.) Wells (1866-1946). | Dimensions: | 38" x 48" x 6" | Availability and pricing: | Original: | Make an offer | To purchase: | Contact Don |
